Estimating prediction horizon of reservoir computer on L63 system when observed variables are incomplete

چکیده

Abstract Reservoir computer (RC) is an attractive neural computing framework that can well predict the dynamics of chaotic systems. Previous knowledge RC performance established on case all variables in a system are completely observed. However, practical circumstances observed from dynamical usually incomplete, among which there lack understanding performance. Here we utilize mean error growth curve to estimate prediction horizon Lorenz63 (L63), and particularly investigate scenario univariate time series. Our results demonstrate outperforms local analogs L63, state-space embedding technique improve incomplete observations. We then test conclusion more complicated systems, extend method intraseasonal predictability atmospheric circulation indices. These could provide indications for future developments applications RC.

Estimating interaction effects with incomplete predictor variables.

The existing missing data literature does not provide a clear prescription for estimating interaction effects with missing data, particularly when the interaction involves a pair of continuous variables. In this article, we describe maximum likelihood and multiple imputation procedures for this common analysis problem. We outline 3 latent variable model specifications for interaction analyses w...

Economic Survival When Markets Are Incomplete∗

We consider an infinite horizon economy with incomplete markets with two agents and one good. We begin with an example in which an agent’s consumption is zero eventually with probability one even if she has correct beliefs and is marginally more patient. We then provide two general results: (a) a precise statement indicating that if markets are effectively incomplete forever then on any path on...

Regulating collateral-requirements when markets are incomplete

In this paper we examine the effects of default and scarcity of collateralizable durable goods on risk-sharing. We assume that there is a large set of assets which all promise a risk-less payoff but which distinguish themselves by the collateral requirement. In equilibrium agents default and the assets have different payoffs. Assets with very low collateral requirements can be interpreted as su...

Investments in Children When Markets Are Incomplete ∗

This paper proposes a model of investments in the cognitive skills of children that is based on three features: that it takes time to build a child’s stock of cognitive skills; that parental resources evolve stochastically over time; and that parents face constraints that limit their ability to transfer resources across states of nature, across time, and across generations. These constraints di...
